It is insulation-coverable if you use it with a GU10 LED lamp. However, it is only allowed if the bulb doesn't exceed 7w of power. You cannot add insulation if you choose an LED bulb with a higher lumen count for your lights. 

The 5w GU10 LED bulb that comes with this downlight is dimmable with warm white light (3000K). It produces 400 lumens maximum brightness with a wide 110-degree beam angle, ensuring your electricity bill won't go off the roof even after extended use. The warm white light has a yellowish hue that resembles an old incandescent bulb. 

This LED downlight is not just a stylish addition to your home. It's also a safety feature.
