Lights that switch themselves

This PIR sensor fits into the ceiling and switches the lights on when it detects movement, then off again after the time you set. Use it in hallways, landings, toilets, stores and other rooms where lights get left on.

Detection

The sensor sees movement all the way round (360°), up to 6m away at temperatures below 24°C. It picks up walking pace movement of 0.6 to 1.5m/s.

Set it up your way

Set the time delay from 10 seconds to 15 minutes. The light level setting, from under 3 to 2000 lux, decides how dark it has to be before the sensor turns the lights on, so they don't come on in daylight.

Manual override

To keep the lights on, turn the wall switch off and on again within 3 seconds. To go back to sensor mode, turn the switch off for 20 seconds and then back on. The sensor also returns to automatic mode on its own if the lights are left idle for a long time and the daylight reaches 100 lux.

Load

It switches up to 300w of LED lighting or up to 1200w of traditional lighting.

Fitting

Cut a 63-66mm hole; the sensor is 76mm across and 75.6mm deep, so check there's room above the ceiling. Spring clips hold it in place. It runs on 220-240v mains and is rated IP20, so fit it indoors in dry areas. Have a qualified electrician fit it.
