LED Flood Lights

LED flood lights are well-known outdoor lights that create impeccable illumination, ideal for large spaces. They are designed to produce direct and intense light beams that highlight a particular but wide area. These lights are usually used for security, advertising, and industrial purposes. If your property is in a secluded place, you can use these lights to brighten up your space to ward off intruders.

Depending on the lumens you get, these lights can closely replicate the illumination you get during midday. Aside from that, they are built to last and can withstand harsh environments and adverse weather conditions.

What is a flood light?

LED flood lights are a lighting solution that is designed to brighten spacious areas by literally flooding them with light. They produce an intense beam of light that is bright enough to scare off any robber or intruder that may sneak into your premises late at night. They are sometimes also equipped with motion sensors so every time something moves, you'll know it's there, and if they shouldn't be there then they'll be surprised, exposed and hopefully leave.

One of the best features of these lights is that they are multi-functional. It's not only made for industrial purposes, but you can get creative and apply them uniquely and aesthetically. You can use them to light up your lawn so you can enjoy your summer get-together outdoors even at night, or you can use these lights as uplights for your landscaping!

How to connect flood lights to mains?

Before proceeding with any installation, we advise you to let a professional handle it. An electrician is always the best person to handle an electrical installation - especially outdoors! The last thing you want is water getting into your mains. It's very dangerous and can be a hazard when you don't do it right. But if you know you can, then here's a simple walkthrough:

  1. Turn off the power connected to the mains where you will be joining your lights to avoid being electrocuted.
  2. Check the manual that comes with your lights to know other specific details that are needed for installation.
  3. After you're done fixing the light component, wire your flood light to the mains. Make sure that you connect the same-coloured wires together.
  4. After wiring your lights, adjust your flood light's projection angle to the direction you need with the open-end wrench.
  5. Then, turn your lights on to see if it’s working.

If you want to make your LED flood lights more secure and stop people from stealing them, you can drill the open-end wrench in the ground or on a surface where you want to mount them. To do this, you’ll need to:

  1. Create a punch mark on the surface where you will mount the lights.
  2. Then, use an appropriate drill size to create a hole.
  3. Screw the light in place to secure it, and you are done!
