Make ordinary lights and appliances smart

This smart switch controller fits in the supply to a mains-powered light or appliance and lets you switch it from your phone, a 2.4GHz remote or a timer. It's a low-cost way to add smart control to what you already have, without replacing the fittings.

Three ways to control it

Connect it to your WiFi and use the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app to switch things on and off from anywhere. It also works with 2.4GHz remotes, with a range of up to 30m. One controller pairs with up to 12 remotes, so you can switch it from several rooms. For the 2.4GHz remote function you need a compatible C2 remote, which is not included.

What it works with

Use it with incandescent, halogen and non-dimmable LED lamps, and with appliances such as heaters, fans, humidifiers and electric fires. It handles up to 10A at 100-240V. It is not a dimmer.

Timers and settings

Set schedules for lights or appliances to switch on and off, or use the countdown timer to switch off after you've left the room. The power-on status setting lets you choose whether the load comes back on or stays off after a power cut. The app also shows how much electricity the load is using in real time.

Child lock and auto-forwarding

The child lock stops the controller being switched by accident. Auto-forwarding passes the remote signal on to other controllers, extending the range across a larger home.

Fitting

The controller measures 117 x 45 x 24mm, so it fits behind a light fitting or in a back box. It is IP20, so fit it indoors in a dry place, away from bathrooms and water. Follow the wiring guide, and have a qualified electrician fit it if you're not confident with mains wiring.
