Power for 12V decking lights

This 8W LED driver runs low voltage 12V decking lights. Connect the lights, plug the driver into a socket and they're ready to go, with no wiring needed.

How many lights

Add up the wattage of the lights you want to run and keep it below 8W, with a 10% to 20% margin. For example, 0.5w decking lights would total 8W at 16 lights, so plan for fewer. Only use 12V lights with this driver.

Built for outdoors

The driver is rated IP67, so it's sealed against dust and can cope with brief submersion in shallow water. It can sit under decking boards or anywhere out of sight in the garden. The plug suits outdoor waterproof sockets.

Fitting

The 1.8m cable gives you some reach to the nearest socket. At 73 x 41mm and 31mm thick, the driver fits into tight spaces, and there are two screw holes at each end to fix it in place; use screws, not nails. If you'd rather not have a plug, it can be wired into the mains, but that's a job for a qualified electrician.
