5 Channel DMX512 and RDM LED Decoder, RGB+CCT, Screw Terminal, 12-48V DC

RGB and tunable white from one decoder

This 5 channel DMX decoder drives constant voltage RGB+CCT LED strip (also called RGBWW). Three channels run red, green and blue and two run warm white and cool white, so one decoder gives you both colour and adjustable white light. It supports DMX512 and RDM (Remote Device Management), which adds two-way communication so you can set DMX addresses remotely.

Screw-terminal connections

Pluggable green screw terminals take bare wires for DMX in and out, with no special connectors, which suits mixed cabling and retrofits. Daisy-chain several decoders on one DMX line. With more than 32 decoders or very long runs, add a signal amplifier, and fit a terminal resistor at the end of the line.

Set up on the unit

On smaller systems, use the built-in buttons and digital display to set the DMX start address on the decoder itself.

Output

The decoder runs on 12-48V DC, with five output channels of up to 4A each. At 48V that is up to 192w per channel and 960w in total. Use it only with constant voltage LED products and a suitable constant voltage power supply, never with constant current fittings.

Smooth, flicker-free dimming

Choose a PWM frequency from 250Hz to 32kHz; higher settings cut visible flicker on camera. 8-bit or 16-bit dimming gives 256 or 65,536 levels for smoother fades, with logarithmic or linear dimming curves.

Protection

Reverse-polarity, overheat, overload and short-circuit protection are built in, with automatic recovery once a fault clears. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor locations and works from -30°C to 55°C.
