Keep a light on when the power goes

This 24w LED emergency kit gives an LED light fitting 3 hours of backup when the mains supply fails, so stairs, corridors, offices and exits stay lit while people move out safely. It's designed for use with round LED panels.

Battery

It uses a LiFePO4 6.4V 1.5Ah battery. After a power cut it takes 24 hours to recharge fully.

Fitting

It's a remote pack, so it sits apart from the light fitting, connected between the fitting's mains driver and the LED lamp. It wires straight to 230V mains with an unswitched live to keep the battery charged, and comes with a charge indicator LED and a test switch. Fixing centres are 238mm. Have a qualified electrician install it, following the wiring diagram and the label on the module.

Standards

The emergency module complies with IEC 61347-2-7 and is suitable for installation to EN50172 and BS7671. It's Class 2 and rated IP20, so fit it indoors in a dry place.
