Small LED Emergency Downlight, 3W, 140 Lumens, Non-Maintained, 3 Hour, 35mm Cut-Out

Emergency light that looks like a downlight

This small recessed downlight stays off in normal use and comes on when the mains power fails. It sits almost flush in the ceiling, so it looks like any other downlight instead of a bulky emergency box. Use it in offices, shops, hallways, stairwells and public areas where people need to find their way out in a power cut.

Backup time and output

A built-in Ni-Cd battery gives 3 hours of emergency light. It gives 140 lumens from 3W in cool white 6000K, enough to see a route out. A full charge takes 5 to 6 hours, so fit it and leave it powered before you rely on it.

Protection

Overcharge and discharge protection looks after the battery, and there's a green indicator light on the fitting. The body is polycarbonate and aluminium with a white finish, and the LED is rated for an average of 20,000 hours.

Fitting

Cut a 35mm hole. The battery pack goes through the hole first, then the downlight pushes in after it. It runs on 220-240V mains and is rated IP20 for dry indoor ceilings. It isn't dimmable.
