Crisp cool white strip

This 12V LED tape gives cool white light at 6000K, a bright, slightly blue white that's good for task lighting and makes displays look sharp. With 120 LEDs on every metre it gives 1000 lumens per metre.

Where to use it

Run it under shelves and cupboards, inside display cabinets, along kickboards, behind frosted glass, or in garages and basements that are hard to light. It suits shops and salons as well as homes. It's rated IP20, so keep it dry and indoors.

Output and life

Each metre uses 10w and spreads its light over a 120° beam. Average life is 50,000 hours.

Fitting

Wipe the surface clean, peel off the backing and press the 8mm tape into place. It can be cut every 25mm, so round your lengths down to the nearest 25mm.

Driver and dimming

The tape runs on 12V DC, so it needs a 12V LED driver. Multiply 10w by the number of metres and choose the next driver size up: 4m is 40w, so use a 50w driver. Never round down. For dimming, use a standard driver with a remote or wall controller, or a dimmable driver with an LED compatible wall dimmer.
