Each module has three LEDs giving 165 lumens of cool white light from 1.5w, and the wide 170° beam spreads the light across the sign face so there are fewer bright spots and dark patches.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe chain\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe chain is 5.7m long, with the modules spaced 300mm apart. Each module is 70 x 16 x 10mm. There's a 300mm lead at the start of the chain to reach the driver, and you can extend it with standard 2-core cable. The wires are AWG 22 with bare tinned ends: red is positive and white is negative.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCut to fit\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou can cut the chain between any two modules to suit letters, curves and awkward layouts. Strip the cut wires back and either terminate them or join them to an extension cable. A module you cut off can be reused at the end of another run.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003ePower\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe modules run on 24V DC, so you need a 24V LED driver, sold separately. Run up to 40 modules (two full chains) in series; beyond that, wire chains in parallel. To size the driver, multiply the total wattage by 1.2: one 30w chain needs a 40w 24V driver, and four chains in parallel need at least a 160w driver. You can use a non-dimmable, TRIAC dimmable or DALI driver, depending on the job.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eIndoors and outdoors\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe modules are rated IP65, with a sealed silicone lens and injection-moulded housing, so they suit outdoor signs as well as indoor light boxes. Outdoors, the driver and any junction boxes need a suitable IP rating too.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eFixing\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach module has 3M adhesive backing for quick positioning, plus screw holes for a permanent or outdoor fixing.
